Enjoy the alpine summer at our farm in Laion / Lajen

The Hatzeshof is the perfect starting point for hikes or bike tours in the paradise of South Tyrol. Best conditions are also offered for flying model airplanes.

Many rustic mountain huts invite to take a culinary break. Various hiking areas are also reachable by bus or by car. You get, of course, many tips and a hiking map for your planned tours. You also find books, hiking tips and hiking maps in our library.
The berries are fully ripe on our farm, and if you want you can help to pick and collect. You can also join the harvesting of the hay. Running barefoot across the fields, acres and meadows, feeling the sunbeams in your face, forgetting time and space in your hammock at the pond “Fischerweiher” – all that makes summer special at the Hatzeshof.

Mountainbike / E-Bike

All the popular trails, such as the alpine trails “Ramitzl” or “Unterpulg” could turn your holiday into an active holiday. E-bikes can be rented at the tourism association in Lajen and Val Gardena.

Flying model airplanes

The flying field (GPS coordinates 46.607165, 11.579016) is located in Tschöfas, the smaller village just above Lajen, right next to the “Gasthof Hatzis” which is reachable by car. If the wind crosses the valley at the southern or southwestern slope, there are perfect conditions for thermal and slope soaring from May until August. Ideally, it is also possible, depending on the weather conditions, piloting from late morning until evening. This location is made for gliders (not for model airplanes with combustion engine) of a model size up to 4 meters of span. The landing field is free from stones. It is also possible to land on other fields, but it should be avoided on freshly mowed fields. If there is north wind, it is not possible to fly.

Safekeeping of the model airplanes is possible, smaller repairs can be done either at the Hatzeshof or at the Pension Hatzis.
At Gasthof Hatzis, you can stop to rest, to enjoy the sun and the splendid view while eating a delicious Italian pizza, or while savouring tasty sundaes, apple strudel or other specialities, such as a cold beer or an exquisite glass of South Tyrolean wine.
